California Love is a collection of Modern Mini Quilts by the talented members of the Los Angeles Modern Quilt Guild (LAMQG), that draws on the quilter's love and connection to California. The LAMQG quilters created art inspired by the culture and beauty they see and experience every day, from their local communities, favorite cities, and statewide adventures. Come fall in love with California, all over again!
Much of the public is only familiar with traditional, bed sizes, or Amish quilts. Overall, LAMQG aims to broaden the experience one might have with quilting, to include modern, joyful, and aesthetically pleasing pieces of fiber art. All proceeds go directly to the programming costs and equity fund for LAMQG, allowing affordable and equitable learning and advancements of the Modern Quilting movement.The exhibit is coordinated and curated by Leasa Eisele, the Vice President of LAMQG. The Los Angeles Modern Quilt Guild is a non-profit organization that promotes and supports fiber art/quilting. It was founded in 2009 and is the flagship guild of the International Modern Quilt Guild.
