Look up the definition for “Dame” and you’ll see just how complex a word it is. It can represent power and standing. It can insinuate age and position. It can be used derogatively or dismissively. It can also be a term of affection to represent physical beauty or desirability. It’s the perfectly appropriate title for an art show dedicated to the women we love from the world of Pop Culture and all the beautiful, inspiring complexities of that relationship.. -
